This article attempts to compare the function of four newspapers (Keyhan, Ettelaat, Etemad and Etemad melli) in addiction control. The method of research was content analysis and some of the variables considered in this stady were: the name of the newspaper story styles, story subjects, story nature, attitudes toward addiction, types of narcotics in the title and lead that were published and reflected in these newspapers. The theoretical bases of the study was agenda-setting theory and gatekeeping approach. To analyse and copmare the functionality of the above - mentioned newspapers, the article studied all related news and contents that were published in four newspapers (Keyhan, Ettelaat, Etemad and Etemad melli) during June 26, 2006- June 26, 2007. Using Chi Square (X2 for the analysis findings show that thee is a meaningful difference beween the dependent and independent variables.

The expansion of communication and information technologies has led to transition from industrial society to networked society. Internet folds geographical borders and forms a new society. In this society, different dimensions of life have changed including its political dimensions and electoral systems. Now presidential candidates and their partisans use various means for expressing their own electoral programs and platforms. The web space, one of these means because of being outside of power sphere, interactional activity, freedom from time and place suits this perpose well. In the ninth presidency election of Iran this means this essay, with the aim of considering the extent of news coverage in the ninth presidential election in the web space, studied the type of materials presented in the sites of Baztab, Rooydad, Emrooz, Using content analysis.

The second war of the US-led coalition forces against Iraq. started m March 2001. is one of the srgnificarumternational events in the first years of the 21st century. The triumph of America and its allies to topple Saddam's regime to establish a "democratic system" in Iraq was an indication of new approaches, policies and viewpoints in the mtcrnational sphere, as well as demonstrating technological supremacy and fighting power of coalition forces. There are the quality of OC\\'S released by media . especially the press about the war in Iraq and subsequent events can be considered very important. In the current study, the coverage of lraq,s developments in the two Iranian papcrs-Kayhan and the Sharq- and two American magazics-Tirne and Newsweek- is evaluated using content analysis, within a period of two months following the transition of power to lraqics. The main purpose of the study is to assess the presentation of traq.s events in the above publications with a focus on the dominant political points of view in each country. The Finding show that the image oflraq s suuation indicated in the t\VO Iranian papers (Kayhan and Sharq) was mostly "biased", while this image in the American publications (Time and Newsweek] was "neutral". On the other hand, the accordance of the two Iranian papers with their respective government s policies towards Iraq was higher than the l\VO American publications' accordance with the U.S. administrauon,s polices.

The theoretical bases of this article are theories of information society. The method of research was survey, and the questionnaires were filled out in 13 dailynewspaper offices by 212 journalists. More than 85 percent of the journalists in the newspaper offices had access to computers and 78% of them had connections to the internet. However, financial problems has been the main reason for not making use of the internet. The mean use of the internet by the journalists was Jess than 1 hour in a day. The tendency of %97 of the journalists for using internet was high, and their main motivation was obtaining information. Most journalists were using internet in wriung their texts in daily newspapers at the rate of medium level. The assessment of most of the journalists from government policies concerning internet was weak: The highest use of internet was in Afarinesh and Bonian newspapers' and Hamshahri only has had satellite connection to the internet. Yahoo, BBC, and Gooya were the most visited sites by the Iranian journalists.

This study tries to show a comparative analysis of news and Pseudo News contents of Iran News Agency (IRNA) on related to women during years 1361, 1371 anc.I 1381. In this research, we try to show some of news and non news contents were published in IRNA on relatec.I women activities whom are large elements of Iran society that they are different in view of economy, cultural, social and geographical situations. The theoritical bases of this study have been based on Agenda Setting and Feminism theories. Also are examined the effects of these theories on selecting news and non-news contents on related women which it published in IRNA. Some of the important variables reviewed in this research including: are Subjects of contents, Nature of contents, Purposes and sizes of contents, and Functions of the contents that are published and reflected in IRNA. The method of research has been content analysis and statistical community was included 321 samples that are selected from both news and non news contents published by IRNA News Agency during three periods that are mentioned at the begining of the abstract. The results of this study show that offered varaiabls have seen significant relation with cultural, political and social conditions during three periods. Furthermore, the result of research shows that the quantity of news and non news contents has increased during three periods. In analysis of data descriptive statistics and statistical inference have been used.
